Global Innovation, Local Support: Material Recovery Solutions

The close partnership between Material Recovery Solutions and Godswill Paper Machinery provides local recycling businesses with a reliable baling solution.
Godswill Paper Machinery has been supplying paper recycling and recycling equipment to businesses around the world since 1987.
It is one of the world's largest baler manufacturers, with over 200 balers currently operating in Australia and New Zealand, many of them for high volume production.
Since 2019, Material Recovery Solutions (MRS), based in South East Queensland, has been acting as the sole agent for Godswill balers in Australia and New Zealand. This partnership allows MRS to provide local sales, service and support to its customers while meeting the specific needs of the local market.
MRS Managing Director Marcus Corrigan said his company is well positioned to support this as Australia's export ban on multiple waste streams goes into effect, domestic processing capacity has grown and demand for quality palletizing equipment has increased.Markus said that Godswill's high-quality packaged products, combined with MRS's customer-centric approach and after-sales support, have helped build a strong network of loyal customers, who he says account for about 90 percent of MRS's sales.

“We consider Godswill the standard in Australia for medium to high bandwidth applications where reliability and durability are critical,” he said.
“We have established a strong professional relationship with Godswill and have worked closely with them to ensure that all Godswill baler products are tailor-made to meet the needs of the Australian and New Zealand markets.”
MRS also offers a range of spare parts to support Godswill products, as well as a full-service machine shop that allows for the in-house manufacturing of a range of additional equipment, including feed conveyors, screens and separators, as well as bespoke custom designs where required.
It also allows MRS to supply Godswill products as part of customized turnkey solutions for material recovery and other recycling businesses.
For the past few years, MRS has prioritized investment in its manufacturing facilities to maximize this aspect of the business internally, according to Markus.
“With the right equipment, a well-developed workforce and the efficient design options we provide, MRS is committed to growing onshore manufacturing and local employment,” he said.
With a team of experienced engineers, technicians and manufacturers at MRS Headquarters in Queensland, and contractors located in most metropolitan areas across the country, MRS is able to provide customers with fast turnaround times, regular service and technical support.
“MRS is committed to maintaining a close relationship with our customers from the very beginning of installation and throughout the life of the equipment,” said Markus.
Godswill's flagship models include the GB-1111F series automatic row balers and the GB-1175TR series twin cylinder balers.
Automatic balers support the handling of materials such as paper, cardboard and other fibrous waste streams.
Powered by a 135 kW hydraulic system, the GB-1111F delivers real productivity when used with the right infeed conveyor. It is capable of packing cardboard at 18 tons per hour and paper at 22 tons per hour.
The range of twin piston balers are designed to handle high memory materials such as plastic bottles and LDPE film, as well as a range of other materials including aluminum and steel cans and hard plastics.
For particularly difficult material, additional wire can be attached to the bale in combination with the Accent 470 Strapping System. Custom builds are available for more niche applications. MRS's Godswill range of balers typically come in three frame sizes and feature a modular hydraulic system that allows MRS to add kilowatts of power to tailor the machine to customer requirements.
“An efficient hydraulic system provides regenerative oil management, energy-saving components, and variable frequency drives with speed controls to optimize the low-load phase of the press cycle,” says Markus.
For ease of use, all Godswill balers are equipped with Human Machine Interface, an intuitive touch screen setup that allows the operator to control or adjust machine settings for different materials, as well as access diagnostics and problem solving.
